Fort Mountain Companies offers a Landowner Assistance Program. This process will introduce the Landowner to the 4 main aspects of a Timber Harvest: Timber Products, Water Quality, Wildlife and Recreation.

A FORESTER: "Many people  confuse the role of the forester with that of the logger, but most foresters are concerned not only with the harvest of the timber, but also with the sustainable management of forests to:  (in the words of Gifford Pinchot) 'Provide the greatest good for the greatest number in the long term'" (Wikipedia)

OUR LICENSED FORESTER PROVIDE THE FOLLOWING SERVICES:

1. Free Onsite consultations and woodlot examination with/for owners.

2. Assessment of Landowner Goals

a. Forest Management Plan Development

b. Providing Technical Service Provider Assistance for Natural Resource Conservation Service Cost Shared Plans. License #TSP-05-4993

c. Assistance with certification through A.F.F. Tree Farm

3. Timber Appraisals & Inventory

4. Complete Timber Sale Layout & Management

a. Timber Marking & Tally on estimate of harvest volume

b. Skid Trail Layout

c. Harvest Limits

d. Minimum Impact Wetland Crossing Location and implementation

e. Allows for future silviculture sustainability

f. Minimum Impact for wildlife and for natural & historical features

g. Timber Sale Supervision with regular site visits and Landowner consultation to be sure goals for harvest are met.

h. Oversees the Timber sale operation making sure it meets all criteria set down by Federal and State Laws.

i. Completes all necessary State and Local forms for Landowners signature.

j. Review of complete project with Landowner.
